I chose to talk about this painting because it is one that is our book and like that I am sure people will have seen it. Also it is I think a very comic painting.
The painting as been made by Roy Lichtenstein in 1962, it has been realized as a coming book pictures, making in a scene two characters, a man and a woman. Every aspects of the comic book picture are present with the shape of the picture, the writing corresponding of the speech of the woman. the colors are realist and there is no real light games. The colors are plain without any shade variation except the shadow marked in black. The volume is implied by size and superposition of the characters.
I think this picture is full of irony toward the work of artist. The woman does not understand why it is call a master piece but if it is said to be she believes it. I think it shows how some people do not understand art but will fallow what ever they hear without thinking.
I like this painting for the style (comic book) but also cause of the irony and unfortunately truth of the denunciation of the lake of understanding of art by of some people.
