Dance

I do not know for you but for me dance is one of the most transient art form, we were able to record it at least.
I would like to share with you two link for dance. The first one is to show that dance does not need any special place and can be made anywhere anytime. I would say that dance is the way that the soul creates art.
The second one is made by an Japanese dance company and I just love the style.

Museum of contemporary Art

This Wednesday we went to the museum of contemporary art. Contrary to the Art Institute, the art is not kept away from you. I found this place interesting by the architecture. The main floor seams very cold by the division between the two side of the building and the upstairs level more looks like a maze. What really interested me in the building construction is the stairs rotating around the almond pool where three giants Koi carps swim.
I enjoy the collection presented because it allow us to see how artists deal with their studio, and also because it presented some of the art showed in ART 21. in all the collection showed I like the furniture as well as the installation with the mirror to see the hidden pictures of poor people. I felt like if the artist was in fact trying to show us the misery that we usually try to avoid. On the other and I felt very strange with the soft toys presentation. For me it was like if the artist was laying down children on a death bed. The other one I liked was the videos made of animation. I found those project very poetic and sweet.
I had so prejudges about this place because I am not a real big fan of modern, however, I really enjoy this trip.
Thank you Gitte.

book

I always loved old book but could not buy any because to expensive. Therefore, I decided to simply create them myself. So far I created 6 or 7 of them. This one that I kept and the first one I created. I use it as a poem book that I wrote or like from other writer and I also try to draw pictures that relate to them. Do you think it looks old or do we see that it is fake?

harpy

Hi everyone,
today I will show you one of my drawing... again....
I know it is getting boring but I think that if we have to share something that is close to us, better show that came from us. I drew this character referring to the myth of the harpy. It is a monster from the Greek mythology who was stilling the food of a man who was condemned by the Gods to never be able to touch the wonderful meals that were put on a table everyday for him.

Cartoon 2

Here his another cartoon I like, Saint Seiya.
The story is about a group of young orphans who become Saint meaning warriors suppose to protect the reincarnation of the goddess Athena and the world again evil.
It is indeed a little violent but the graphics are great. Each saint has an armor that correspond to his or protective star constellation. It would be very long to explain everything to you in details, so let just say that there is different classes of saint depending of their strength and the time of armor they wear.

Cartoon

Hi everyone,
I guess you like me when we were young spent some time watching cartoon on TV. The thing is that i never stopped. I love cartoon, and I am always amaze to see how an inert drawing can come to life. The list of the cartoon is long but here is one of my favorite character. His name his Yue. He is in the cartoon Cards Captor. In the story Yue has his power from the moon which his his symbol. when the creators drew him they were trying to create a character that everyone will like and would fall in love with. For my own, I think they did.

Shadow

here is the shadow I pick.
This picture has been taken when one of my best friend came to visit me last year after one year and a half without seeing each other. We were by Belmont harbor and decide to take this picture. It is like being there without being there. A memory that is already with the shape of the ghost we can say.

She use her own hand as model in order to show her involvement with her project. In this series of sculpture she shows how human are needy. We are all proud of our authenticity and ourselves, but it is also showing that we always need someone else. We are individually independent creature that depend of others in many case.

computer creation

I created this picture with a picture of a figure I had in my bedroom in France and a program to change few colors and had some effect. I think that the final is pretty nifty.
What do you think?

oriental Institute

We actually went to the Oriental institute before the break but my schedule had been very busy so it has been hard to work. i really enjoy this place. You do not need any spell and incantation to walk through space and time anymore. just go to the Oriental institute and you will be able to see the wonder of the past. I enjoyed the giant bull man, the Egyptian colossus as well as all the murals. It is amazing to realize that everything come from so far away. I would not think it would be so easy to bring such monumental pieces in Chicago.

public art tour 2

Public art tour

Public art tour of Chicago,
is a good way to see another side of the windy city.
I think it is a wonderful thins to have so much art in the town unfortunately some of them do not have the place they deserve.
I really like the Statue of the woman, where people gather to dance. I will try to take my mom to the tour when she will be here because I think it is an easy way to see the main streets of town on a fast and oriented way.
The details furnished by the audio tour are also very interesting and helpful for some details.
